English Editing Solutions was founded by American scientist Dr. Curtis Barrett to help researchers and clinical scientists succeed in today’s English-dominated environment.
Dr. Barrett received his PhD in 2001 from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, where he specialized in neuroscience and molecular physiology. Following his postdoctoral training at Stanford University, he emigrated with his wife and children to Europe to continue his scientific research in neurobiology and genetics. After years of helping many colleagues write their manuscripts and grant proposals, he chose to make this his full-time profession. Dr. Barrett is an experienced, professional editor and has edited more than a thousand manuscripts, many of which have been published in high-impact, internationally respected journals.
In addition, Dr. Barrett is available for lecturing and teaching courses and workshops on a variety of topics, including how to prepare scientific posters, how to use EndNote, PowerPoint and Excel to their full potential, the essentials of writing manuscripts and grant proposals, and other topics as needed.
Dr. Barrett is active in both the scientific and editing communities, serving as a peer reviewer for journals and funding agencies and as a member of the following societies (links will open in a new tab/window):
